Keystone XL Pipeline -- Renewable Electricity Standard


Udall, D-N.M., amendment no. 77 that would establish a national renewable electricity standard. The amendment would set a goal for 25 percent of U.S. electricity generation to come from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, ocean, tidal, geothermal energy, biomass, landfill gas, incremental hydropower or hydrokinetic energy by 2025.

Note: By unanimous consent, the Senate agreed to raise the majority requirement for adoption of the Udall amendment to 60 votes.
