FTC Antitrust Case Standards -- Passage

Description:

Passage of the bill that would require the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to comply with the same procedures as the Department of Justice under the Clayton Act (PL 63-212) for cases of antitrust laws that could "substantially lessen competition" or "tend to create a monopoly." Additionally, the bill would require the Attorney General and the FTC to notify a state attorney general in writing, on cases in which a state could bring action on an antitrust case, would give the FTC subpoena authority for such cases, and would give United States district courts jurisdiction in relevant cases.
