Passage of the bill, as amended, that would expand agencies' ability to suspend, fire or demote Senior Executive Service (SES) employees based on performance or misconduct and double probationary periods for civil service employees before they receive federal job protections. The measure would also require that SES employees be reassigned every five years. The measure would require annual reports on the amount of time federal employees work as union representatives. The measure would also allow agencies to block access to personal email and social media on federal computers if deemed necessary for cybersecurity purposes.
