Description:
Passage of the joint resolution that would disapprove and nullify an Education Department rule that addresses implementation of a 2015 reauthorization of a K-12 education law related to state assessment of schools. Among its elements, the rule includes provisions regarding identification of and intervention in low-performing schools for comprehensive or targeted improvement, and it requires states to measure academic achievement, graduation rates and English proficiency.
