Unemployment Benefit Drug Testing Disapproval – Passage

Description:

Passage of the joint resolution that would disapprove and nullify a Labor Department rule that defines the occupations for which states can require drug tests for individuals applying for unemployment benefits. Current law allows such testing if an individual's only available "suitable work" is an occupation in which drug testing is regularly conducted, and the rule defines those occupations as ones for which state or federal law requires employees to be tested for controlled substances.
