Gas Stove Protections -- Passage HR 1640

Passage of the bill, as amended, that would prohibit the Energy Department from finalizing, implementing or enforcing a February 2023 proposed rule that would impose stricter gas stove efficiency standards, or any "substantially similar" rule. It would also prohibit the department from determining that an energy conservation standard for kitchen ranges or ovens is economically justified unless it determines that the standard would not likely result in the unavailability of a type of product in the United States based on what type of fuel it consumes.
