Trade Promotion Authority -- Trade Adjustment Assistance

Flake, R-Ariz., amendment no. 1243 to the Hatch, R-Utah, substitute amendment no. 1221 that would strike Title II of the amendment which extends the Trade Adjustment Assistance Program through June 30, 2021 at a level of $450 million a year. The substitute amendment would set specific conditions on the president of the United States when negotiating foreign trade agreements and grant Congress final approval on any agreement reached by the participating parties without amendment in an up or down vote.
