Lankford, R-Okla., amendment no. 3210 to the Murkowski, R-Alaska, substitute amendment no. 2953 that would require Congress to approve any purchases of land through the Land and Water Conservation Fund that costs more than $50,000 per acre through enactment of legislation. Additionally, acquisitions of land could not exceed the level of deferred maintenance backlog funding if the non-road deferred maintenance backlog on federal land is greater than $1 billion. The substitute amendment would create a grant program to carry out projects designed to improve the performance and efficiency of a modernized electric grid, contain provisions related to applications to export liquefied natural gas and would permanently reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
